The “four-piece set” in everyday life generally refers to a bedding set consisting of four items. As the name suggests, it comprises a pair of pillowcases, a duvet cover, and either a flat sheet (flat-sheet style), a fitted sheet (fitted-sheet style), or a bed skirt (bed-skirt style).

  Four-piece sets classified by material

Pure cotton four-piece sets: Based on the weaving technique, pure cotton four-piece sets are generally classified into medium-weave fabric, twill, plain weave, satin weave, and jacquard. Medium-weave fabric has the highest density, followed by twill, with plain weave having the lowest density.

Silk four-piece sets: The fabric specifications for silk four-piece sets typically range from 16 mm to 19 mm (mm: millimeters), and the styles generally include solid colors, printed patterns, jacquard weaves, and hand-painted designs. Other cotton-based four-piece sets are essentially the same.

Tencel four-piece sets: four-piece sets made from purely natural regenerated fibers. Tencel is available in the following specifications:

  Fineness: 1.4 dex, 1.7 dex, 2.4 dex, 3.3 dex

Average length: 38 mm and 51 mm (suitable for cotton spinning and medium-to-long staple spinning); 60 mm and 80 mm (suitable for wool spinning systems). Tencel is available in two grades: the standard grade (G100), which is fibrillated Tencel, and the A100 grade, known as non-fibrillated Tencel.

Bamboo Fiber Bedding Sets: A four-piece set made from virgin bamboo fiber is a brand-new type of natural fiber, produced through a combination of physical and chemical processes. Virgin bamboo fiber differs fundamentally from bamboo pulp fiber: the former is a natural fiber, while the latter is a chemical fiber.

Four-piece silk floss sets: Four-piece silk floss sets are made by processing the cocoon layers—such as thick-skinned cocoons and pupal linings—that remain after the silkworms have spun their cocoons and during the reeling process when the silk thread breaks and cannot be continued—into thin sheets of floss.

  Four-piece sets categorized by style

European-style four-piece bedding sets: European-style four-piece sets can be further categorized into Nordic, Simple European, and Traditional European styles, each reflecting distinct regional cultural influences. Among these, the Country style gained popularity in Europe during the 17th century, emphasizing fluid, dynamic lines and lavish colors. In terms of design, it is rooted in Romanticism, featuring richly colored fabrics and an overall luxurious, opulent aesthetic that conveys a strong sense of movement and dynamism.

Chinese-style four-piece bedding set: In China, people place great emphasis on both the localized decoration and the overall style of the home environment. Home textile products, as elements of the living space, serve as focal points that enhance the overall harmony; therefore, it is essential to consider their coordination with the room’s ambiance and its specific functional requirements, ensuring a seamless integration between localized accents and the broader stylistic theme.
